How to make a special tomato sauce?
Tomato Sauce is probably one of the most famous recipes of Italy! Its simplicity is the taste.
There are many ways to cook a delicious tomato sauce… but this one is definitely a special one!
We are going to use 5 different types of tomatoes: fresh cherry tomatoes, tomato sauce, peeled tomatoes, tomato paste and Sundried Tomatoes! You can use any kind of pasta, but the best shape is “Bucatini” pasta. It is a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the centre that makes it perfect to absorb the sauce!
The result is amazing, just try my:

Fry the onion and then add the sliced cherry and sun-dried tomatoes
Then add the tomato sauce, the tomato paste and the peeled tomatoes, squashing them with a fork.
Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste and peeled tomatoes.
If you like your pasta a bit spicy you can add some chilli pepper.
Cook on a medium heat for further 10 minutes with a lid.
In the meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to the boil. Put the hooking up with ex and drain it 3-4 minutes before they are cooked, as mentioned on the pack.
Cook the hooking up with ex
Pour the hooking up with ex in the pan with the sauce and stir together for few minutes to finish cooking the pasta.
Add some minced basil leaves and grated parmesan on top!
The important thing not to forget: the bread, to soak up the sauce at the end of the meal!
Enjoy and… Buon Appetito!

why no garlic?
Irene
Thanks David, this is for sure a great suggestion! You can add garlic to this sauce in two ways: 1) frying 1 or 2 whole garlic cloves with the onion and removing them when the sauce is ready, before tossing the pasta; or 2) finely slicing 1 or 2 cloves and adding the minced garlic to the tomato sauce. Let the garlic cook with the sauce and don’t remove it at the end… it will taste even more garlicky this way! Yumm!
Thanks again for your contribution, cooking is always better and funnier when shared!
