Represented as one of the most important steps it served as a catalyst to female emancipation and to a very deep change in daily life and habits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/il_fullxfull.542883336_p86n-e1485382989498.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4272\" src=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/il_fullxfull.542883336_p86n-300x246.jpg\" alt=\"il_fullxfull-542883336_p86n\" width=\"300\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before it was invented, people, mainly the women, were used to cleaning their clothes and linen on rocks with the running water of fountains or natural streams. The sand was used as an abrasive substance. The soap was discovered in the Roman Epoch, using a mixture of ashes and sacrificial animal&#8217;s fat which was a great cleaning agent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/download.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4275\" src=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/download.jpg\" alt=\"download\" width=\"261\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 1667, the Baron John Hoskins created a technique to rinse the laundry through a turning rope basket and a water stream.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4266 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2002628223319_10-630x360-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"2002628223319_10-630x360\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The proper inventor of the washing machine\u00a0is instead meant to be Thomas Bradford, who in the 1860 created a device similar to the one of today. It encompassed two wooden octagonal boxes &#8211; the smaller one contained the laundry which was placed inside the larger one that was filled with water and soap. With the help of a crank handle a person could rotate the smaller box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/l4212-gif.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4267 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/l4212-gif.jpeg\" alt=\"l4212-gif\" width=\"221\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first seller of the washing machine\u00a0was William Blackstone, who created a slightly different device as a gift for his wife&#8217;s birthday in the 1874.
