This time, let&#8217;s find out the treasures of the middle and southern part of Italy!<\/p>\n<p>As you may have noticed, the 10 spots that we saw in North Italy are characterised by mountain sights and lake views. While we go over the 10 most beautiful spots in the South, we&#8217;ll see more locations by the sea.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>11. Marmore Falls &#8211; Umbria<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Marmore Waterfalls are immersed in a natural scenery of incomparable beauty: the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Nera River Park. A\u00a0mass of water that falls from a height of 165 metres. For about 50 years the water of the Waterfall has been used to fuel the hydroelectric plants nearby.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5804\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5804\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/maormero.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5804 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/maormero-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5804\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marmore Falls<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The legend says that a\u00a0nymph named Nera fell in love with Velino, a handsome shepherd. But Juno, jealous of this love, turned the nymph into a river and this river took her name. At this point, Velino, who didn\u2019t want to lose her, threw himself from the Marmore cliff. Then, his jump became the Marmore Falls\u2026<\/p>\n<h4><strong>12. Rocca Calascio (Abruzzo)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Rocca Calascio\u00a0is a mountaintop\u00a0fortress\u00a0or\u00a0<i>rocca<\/i>\u00a0in the\u00a0Province of L&#8217;Aquila\u00a0in\u00a0Abruzzo, Italy.<\/p>\n<p>At an elevation of 1,460 metres, Rocca\u00a0Calascio\u00a0is the highest fortress in the\u00a0Apennines. Built of stone and masonry exclusively for military purposes. Castelpetroso Sanctuary &#8211; Molise<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>An amazing place against the background of the mountains and the sky. The sanctuary appears with its fairy-like profile to the traveller. It definitely worth a visit in Summer or Winter time!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>15. Napoli &#8211; Campania<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"card--page__content article__content context--content copy--body copy--full-width\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"copy--feature\">Italy&#8217;s third-largest city is one of its oldest, most artistic and fascinating places in the world. The historic centre of Naples&#8217; is a Unesco World Heritage Site. This town is home to many archaeological treasures, palaces, castles and churches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copy--feature\">Naples is blessed with rich volcanic soils as well as blue oceans and centuries of culinary know-how. In addition, you can find not only the best pizza, pasta and coffee in Italy. Polignano a Mare\u00a0&#8211; Puglia<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The town is thought to be one of the most important ancient settlements in\u00a0Puglia\u00a0and a\u00a0shining gem on the coast. It is located in a 20 metre-high\u00a0steep cliff above the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. In fact, it could not be any more \u2018at sea\u2019!<\/p>\n<p>For instance, you can wander around the\u00a0<em>logge\u00a0<\/em>(balconies)\u00a0to see the crashing waves or visit the caves. Whichever happens, don&#8217;t forget to visit the\u00a0<em>cornetterias, a type of\u00a0<\/em>shop\u00a0specialised in Italian croissants.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, remember to eat some ice-cream. Matera (Basilicata)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Matera is one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Italy. The\u00a0town is famous for its extensive cave-dwelling districts, the\u00a0<em>sassi<\/em>. In fact, curious visitors can also stay in caves and wander the lanes alongside the picturesque cave-filled cliffs.<\/p>\n<p>The caves of Matera has been inhabited for centuries. Spiaggia di Arcomagno (Calabria)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A fairy hid tiny beach, with an extraordinary natural arch in the rock carved by the sea, the Arco Magno. In fact, you can only reach this area on foot. Ones you get there you can enjoy an extraordinary viewpoint. Moreover, It is known as the &#8220;Tahiti&#8221; of Sardinia. Above all, it is considered a real natural pool with fine white sand.
