This version is flavored with the spicy taste of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tastewithgusto.ie\/shop\/cannonata\/\">Cannonata<\/a><\/strong> and the fresh taste of aromatic herbs. A quick dish that will give you much satisfaction while preparing&#8230; and eating it! And, mackerel is a healthy fish, filled with Omega-3.<\/p>\n<h5>Servings:<\/h5>\n<p>2 Servings<\/p>\n<h5>Ingredients<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_ingredients.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9840 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_ingredients.jpg\" alt=\"Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_ingredients\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>fresh filleted mackerel: 2<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tastewithgusto.ie\/shop\/cannonata\/\">cannonata<\/a><\/strong> about 3 tablespoons<br \/>\nfresh mint, parsley, and basil 1 bunch (you can also add other fresh herbs as you like such as dill, sage, and chives)<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tastewithgusto.ie\/shop\/7-olive-oils\/\">extra virgin olive oil<\/a><\/strong> 1 tbsp<br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\npepper<\/p>\n<h5>Equipment<\/h5>\n<p>1 cutting board, a non-stick pan, 1 knife, 1 bowl, 1 dish<\/p>\n<h5>Preparation<\/h5>\n<p>Clean the mackerel by gutting and filleting them, or ask your fishmonger to do it for you.<br \/>\nWhen the mackerel are filleted, wash them thoroughly under running water and place them on a plate or a tray. Add the Cannonata and spread it well on the mackerel. Set aside.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2_Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_cannonata_spread.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9842 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/cookwithgusto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2_Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_cannonata_spread.jpg\" alt=\"2_Mackerel_with_Cannonata_and_herbs_cannonata_spread\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wash the herbs and cut them coarsely with a knife. Sprinkle half of the herbs over the mackerel fillets and pat so the herbs adhere well to the fish. Turn the fillets once, so they are skin-side down and cook another 2 minutes. In this case, I recommend using parchment paper and a baking tray with low sides. Cooking times are a just a few minutes longer than those required when cooking in a pan.<br \/>\nIf you like this recipe but you don&#8217;t like spicy dishes, you can use other sauces in place of the Cannonata; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tastewithgusto.ie\/shop\/sundried-tomato-pate-small\/\">sun-dried tomato pat\u00e9<\/a><\/strong> or the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tastewithgusto.ie\/shop\/black-olive-tapenade\/\">olive pat\u00e9<\/a><\/strong> are great alternatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mackerel with Cannonata and herbs Loading&#8230; Stir-fried mackerel fillets are one of my favorite seafood recipes.
