Pastry-crusted Italian Style Burger

Are you planning to spend a nice evening with your friends at home? Are you looking for something delicious to eat all together, but you are bored of the usual burger and takeaway meals?

To add a creative touch to your burger in just a few minutes, try this recipe!

I have replaced the soft bread with a crunchy puff pastry crust and I added mozzarella slices, to make the meat juicy and soft. I have also added Sundried Tomatoes, to give an Italian boost of taste!  You can also use Soya or Veggie Burger instead of beef if you prefer a veggie option!

Try it, I’m sure that this fantastic recipe will become a special dish for your friends and for the kids!

Pastry-crusted Italian Style Burger!

Ingredients for 2 persons:

Fry the hamburgers in a pan, just for 2 minutes each side to create a slight brown crust.

Cut the mozzarella into slices.

Put one hamburger on one side of the puff pastry.

Add a slice of mozzarella on top and season with salt and pepper.

After that, put the second hamburger on top. Add another slice of mozzarella, season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Finally, add 2 or 3 sundried tomatoes.

Wrap the hamburger and mozzarella tower in the puff pastry to create a shell. Decorate the top with some strips of puff pastry.

Beat the egg and spread it on the pastry shell.

Then, decorate with some sesame seeds on top.

Repeat the same steps for the second serving.

Put in the oven, preheated at 180°C for around 20 minutes.

Serve warm… they are really delicious!

You will have a great surprise as soon as you will cut the pastry shell… the smell is stunning!

Enjoy and… Buon Appetito!
