Christmas Beef Stew in Balsamic Reduction with Spicy Potatoes
Christmas is around the corner and this recipe is perfect for the Christmassy atmosphere!
The beef meat is very versatile and it is possible to cook it in several ways. I really love stew meat, mainly during Holy Celebrations, like this! I was inspired by the characteristic flavour of balsamic vinegar, that I really love.
Warm up your heart and prepare this fantastic recipe for Christmas, you can accompany your meal with white rice, polenta or any other side dishes to intensify the stunning flavour of this meat with Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP reduction.

Christmas Beef Stew in Balsamic Reduction with Spicy Potatoes
Ingredients for 6 people:
- 1Kg Minced Beef
- 80g Mushrooms
- 2 little White Onions
- 50g Butter
- 1/2 glass of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP
- 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Il Vero”
- 3 Cloves
- Thyme, as needed
- Salt and Pepper, as needed
In a pan, melt the butter and the olive oil, mixed together. Add the sliced onions and cook until brown.
Add the mushrooms and stir all together.
Dust the beef pieces with white flour and put it in the pan with the onions and mushrooms.
Fry all together and stir frequently. When the beef has a golden colour, pour the Malpighi Balsamic Vinegar and a half glass of water in the pan. et it Let it cook for 30 minutes.
Add the cloves, thyme and a tablespoon of sugar.
Let it cook slowly for one hour on a low heat. All done!
Serve the meat with the Spicy Potatoes (follow the recipe below) and don’t let it cool down since this dish should be eaten warm! =)
Spicy Boiled Potatoes
Ingredients for 6 people:
- 7-8 Potatoes
- 1 jar of Pronto Spaghetti
- Extravirgin Olive Oil “Il Vero”
- Salt, as needed
Wash and peel the potatoes. Boil them, until well-cooked. Chop them into bite-size pieces and dress them with Pronto Spaghetti (at least 4-5 tablespoons), 2 tablespoons of Extra virgin Olive Oil “Il Vero” and salt, as needed.
Taste a piece and adjust the flavour, as you prefer.
