Eggs in a Bun with Tomato Sauce

If you are tired of the traditional omelette or scrambled egg, this recipe is perfect for you!

Here is a golden delicacy, a fanciful recipe, a common dish done uncommonly well 🙂

A recipe that will remind you of your childhood. Dipping a slice of toasted bread in the soft yolk of an egg but this time.. with a touch of creativity!

Bake your eggs in the hole of the buns with our Country Basil Pasta Sauce and you will obtain a crunchy dainty snack, full of nutrients and proteins!

So, don’t wait longer and try my:

Eggs in a Bun with Tomato Sauce

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 4 Buns
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Jar of Country Basil Pasta Sauce
  • 50g of grated Parmesan
  • Basil, as needed
  • Chilli, optional
  • Salt and Pepper, as needed
Ingredients

Slice off the flat bottoms of the rolls

Scoop out the soft innards to form a bowl. Don’t throw away the bread you aren’t using! You can freeze it and use it later as breadcrumbs

Create a little hole

Warm up the Country Basil Pasta Sauce in a pan. If you prefer your sauce a bit spicier you can add a touch of chilli.

Put two tablespoons of sauce in each hole of the buns.

Put the Country Basil Pasta Sauce inside the hole

Crack the eggs inside each roll.

Sprinkle some grated parmesan cheese on top of the eggs.

Place the buns and the tops on a baking tray.

Bake the buns at 180°C for 6-8 minutes depending on how you like your egg cook.

Serve the buns and decorate with a fresh leaf of basil. You can eat it with a spoon, a fork or as a sandwich!
