Paprika Bean-Balls with Garlic Sauce

Today I have for you a delicious recipe that can look great as part of any party platter… a tasty snack cloaked in breadcrumbs for extra crunch! These Paprika Bean-Balls with Garlic Patè will have you salivating!

If you’re on a gluten-free diet, you can just replace the wheat flour with gluten-free flour for the breading.

Paprika Bean-Balls with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

  • 500g Borlotti Beans
  • 1 Onion
  • Sweet Paprika, as needed
  • Extra virgin Olive Oil “Il Vero”
  • Salt, as needed
  • 3 tbsp of White Flour 00 + 1 tbsp for the breading  (plain flour)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil, to fry
  • For the GARLIC SAUCE

  • 1 Jar of Garlic Patè
  • 250g Natural Yoghurt
  • Coriander
  • Salt, as needed
  • Ingredients
  • Firstly, make the Garlic Sauce and mince the parsley. In a little bowl, pour 250g of Natural yoghurt and add 8 tbsp of Garlic Patè (or more if you are a garlic lover! Just adjust it to your taste). Add the minced coriander and salt, as needed. Put in the fridge, while preparing the bean-balls.

 

  • Drain the borlotti beans and mash them with a fork, to obtain a smooth purèe.
  • Smash the Borlotti Beans
  • Finely slice the onion.
  • Finely slice the onion
  • Mix the mash beans with the onions, sweet paprika and 2 tbsp of Extra virgin Olive Oil “Il Vero”. Ones you have mix altogether add 3 tbsp of white flour, stir all together and add a pinch of salt.
  • Mix all the ingredients
  • When the mixture is a sticky consistency, use damp hands to roll it into small balls.
  • Make the balls
  • Dip the balls into the flour then into the beaten egg and finally the breadcrumbs to obtain a thick breading.
  • Make the breading
  • Fry the balls with a generous amount of vegetable oil until cooked through and the coating is crisp and golden brown.
  • Fry them!
  • You can also grill it in the oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes. Either way, sprinkle the bean balls with salt and paprika ones they are ready!
  • Super golden treats!
  • Serve with the Garlic Sauce… and a fresh beer!
